8 spice roasted almonds
A simple roasted almond recipe that is sure to please!
These almonds make a perfect treat when hunger spikes between meals. They also work well atop kitchari, salads, or any other dish with grain/rice.
Try and eat just one. We dare you!
Ingredients
2 cups raw almonds
2 TBS ghee
4 tsp maple syrup
2 TBS 8 Spice Digestive
Method
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Soak and peel the almonds. Place the almonds in a bowl and submerge with water just off the boil. Once the water has cooled down, pop the skins off each almond, and place the almonds into another bowl.
Melt the ghee, and pour over the almonds. Add maple syrup and 8 spice to the almonds.
Mix well with your hands. Spread evenly onto two baking sheets.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring often so as not to burn the almonds.
Once the almonds have begun to brown, remove and let cool to room temperature.
Store in a glass jar.
