Marma Acupressure Yoga (in-person)
w. Seva Van Why
Marma Yoga is a unique and ancient practice that combines the principles of Yoga with the healing power of marma points. Marma points are vital energy points in the body, similar to acupressure points in Chinese medicine. In marma Yoga, these points are stimulated through gentle pressure, massage, and specific Yoga postures to activate the body's innate healing abilities.
During a marma Yoga practice, the practitioner focuses on specific marma points, which are believed to be gateways to the body's energy channels. By stimulating these points, the flow of prana (life force energy) is enhanced, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Marma Yoga incorporates various Yoga poses (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation techniques to create a holistic experience. The practice aims to balance the energy flow in the body, release blockages, and restore harmony on all levels.
Benefits of marma Yoga may include improved circulation, enhanced vitality, reduced stress, increased flexibility, improved digestion, detoxification, and overall rejuvenation. It is also believed to have a positive impact on emotional well-being, promoting a sense of calm, clarity, and inner peace.
Marma Yoga offers a unique approach to healing and self-care, integrating the wisdom of Yoga and the therapeutic benefits of marma points. By harnessing the power of these energy points, marma Yoga can help bring balance, vitality, and overall well-being to those who incorporate it into their wellness routine.
