Beginning Yoga Semester (in-person or livestream)

Beginning Yoga introduces you to common Yoga poses (asanas) with an emphasis on proper alignment, pose variations for accessibility, and the use of props. In addition to asana, you will practice yogic breathing (pranayama), concentration (dharana), and meditation (dhyana). These complimentary practices will all be rooted in Yoga philosophy and Hatha.

In this six-week Yoga series, you will:

  • Apply a safe and accessible approach to practicing Yoga asana

  • Practice breathing techniques to relax and improve mindfulness

  • Develop mental concentration to support meditation

This class is offered in-person at the Ayurvedic Wellness Center or livestream via Zoom.

Can’t participate live on Tuesdays at 5:30p ET? No worries, you can find a recording of this class in our on-demand library 24 hours after each session.

Jeremy Blair

Jeremy Blair began practicing Yoga in 2000 and continues to develop his Yoga practice in tandem with his work as a dance educator and choreographer. His teaching philosophy, deeply rooted in the ancient texts, takes an interdisciplinary approach to Yoga. He fluidly integrates Yoga philosophy into his Yoga classes, empowering students with information and practical applications for Yoga principles in all aspects of life. The physical practice builds on Iyengar alignment principles and incorporates information from modern somatic systems for a holistic mind-body experience. He promotes safe movement with kinesiological cues and provides ample modifications throughout class to accommodate all bodies.
