Yoga Groove
w. Gina Greene . E.RYT, LMT
Yoga Groove offers time to enjoy the beauty and delight that rises to the surface when we listen to great music and let our bodies and minds move with joy. It's an invitation to step out of the mind and into sensation, letting rhythm guide the practice rather than a set sequence of poses.
Gina opens class with about 15 minutes of guided asana to warm up the body. From there, the evening's playlist takes the lead, and each student is free to shape their own practice: exploring asana, moving intuitively, or simply dancing. You're welcome to stay on your mat or move off of it, dance solo or alongside a friend.
This kind of free movement matters because it reconnects us with a part of practice that structure can sometimes leave out: joy. Moving without a script asks the nervous system to relax its grip and lets the body express what words often can't.

Gina Greene . E.RYT, LMT
Gina took her first yoga class in NYC at The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center where her heart was smitten. Her first certification in Basics was through Kali Ray’s TriYoga system. She went on to complete her 200 and 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training certifications through Lotus in the Flame with her teacher, Melissa Spamer, who shares her deeply lived experience of Yoga & Ayurveda with a dedication that has been a gift to receive.
Gina is grateful for the richness offered her, the ground from which her unique understanding of yoga, bodywork and living with presence could root and rise. She began teaching yoga in the Kalamazoo community eighteen years ago upon request and hasn’t turned away from the invitation since. Her classes tend towards steadiness, essential movements for stability and ease with a request for curiosity and kindness towards the body-mind. She knows well the need to remember and offer the invitation to soften, listen, gentle and receive the sweetness of heart-centered awareness.
