According to Ayurvedic principles, by understanding oneself, by identifying one’s own constitution, and by recognizing sources of doshic aggravation, one can not only follow the proper guidelines to cleanse, purify, and prevent disease, but also uplift oneself into a realm of awareness previously unknown.

Ayurveda for women’s wellness:
theory + practice course

why Ayurveda?

The female body is an incredibly responsive and intelligent organism that expresses its imbalances clearly for us to interpret if we’re listening. Ayurveda contains the theory and the language to understand what symptoms of imbalance the body is communicating AND holds the practices to address those imbalances. It’s a science of cycles and phases, which is well matched to the sacred cycles of the female body.

This four-week course is a container for the transmission of the profound teachings of Ayurveda as they have been passed down for millennia. Each module will build upon the previous teachings until we have woven together a picture of vitality, balance, and health for women through each of the three stages of life. Classes will include theory lecture, Q&A, diet, lifestyle, herbal approaches, and weekly home practices to implement.

what will I learn?

This four-module introductory course will introduce you to how Ayurvedic theory informs how we approach wellness in a female body. In addition to theory, with each module you’ll receive home practices to allow you to have an embodied experience of the teachings.

this course covers:

  • The three stages of life, the four ashrams, and doshic influences

  • Tissue nutrition importance

  • Menstruation phases through the lens of Ayurveda, and supports for all phases including PMS

  • Fertility considerations

  • Perimenopause preparations and supports for imbalances that arise

  • Menopause as a natural transition, not a pathology

You’ll receive instruction from an Ayurvedic Practitioner with clinical experience working alongside the leading Ayurvedic teachers in the U.S. Each module contains digital materials to enrich your learning, and home practices to give you a practical application of the theory in your daily life.

who is this course for?

  • This semester is appropriate for women and AFAB people looking to support their daily wellness with a comprehensive science of healing. The practices that you’ll learn will empower you to support your wellness through accessible everyday actions.

  • Ayurveda for Women’s Wellness is also a good fit for Ayurvedic students seeking to deepen their Ayurvedic knowledge.

  • Ayurveda for Women’s Wellness is for those who wish to have an understanding of Ayurvedic theory AND be able to self-apply these practices at home.

  • Students choose to take this course if they’re not ready for, or don’t need the one-on-one support of clinical consultation, and yet are ready to incorporate these teachings and practices into their wellness journey.

  • Students newer to Ayurveda often find that Foundations of Ayurveda is a useful precursor to this course.

what past participants have to say…

[Women's Wellness] was one of my favorite courses! I still have my notes and gained so much from it, including the beautiful chant we learned. My daughter knows it by heart and we sing it almost every night.

- Megan K.

This class informed me in ways that felt really important. Important for the stages I’ve moved through, where I’m at, and what I’m moving into… physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I will use these teachings as I age to support my health and well-being.
