Ayurvedic rejuvenation retreat

Kerala, India | July 23 - August 3, 2025

The Invitation...

Where will yoga take you? Experience a diverse range of southern India’s Kerala, known as God’s Country. From a rural, Āyurvedic Retreat Center, complete with medicinal gardens where you’ll receive daily Āyurvedic body treatments; ancient temples, and the backwaters of Kerala; to bustling city life on the Spice Coast, with a sensory feast available at every direction you turn… and the practices of Yoga & Āyurveda woven into the fabric of your experience.

Experience the depths of healing via Yoga + Āyurveda with a group of practitioners in the homeland of these practices.

One’s destination is rarely a place...
but a new way of seeing things.
— Henry Miller

This journey takes place in Kerala. This region boasts the bustling but laid back Kochi (formerly Cochin), and the lush tropical landscape of south India. We begin our retreat with 8 days/8 nights at the beautiful Ahimsa Retreat Center ~ 3 hours outside of Kochi. Ahimsa is a family-style retreat, with nourishing home-cooked meals, residential Āyurvedic rejuvenation therapies, Āyurvedic medicine gardens, and a hill-top yoga shala. Your days will include Yoga practice, rejuvenation therapies overseen by an Āyurvedic Vaidya (doctor) and amazing therapeutic team, deep rest and rejuvenation, cultural arts, time on the iconic Kerala backwaters, and visits to neighboring sights.

From Ahimsa, we’ll travel back to Kochi. Called the "Queen of the Arabian Sea", Kochi was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century onward. With a rich history including the Arabs, Dutch, Portuguese, and British, Kochi is a feast for the senses. Food, art, architecture, and spiritual practice will nourish you as we explore the city for 3 days/nights. I’ll share my favorite cultural experiences, restaurants, boutiques, and markets on this curated tour.

This is a retreat for those who desire to steep deeply in Yoga & Āyurveda, as it's practiced in its home. It will be a journey of deep beauty externally and internally. It will be transformative. And you’re invited.

I look forward to sharing the beauty of India with you!

What past retreat participants say…

Kara did an outstanding job looking out for all of us. From planning self-care, pre-flight, excursions, events, keeping an eye on us all, post-flight or what ever else comes up, she was on it all the time. So intuitive for the needs of others. Such a beautiful gift she has and was such a pleasure for me to witness someone with such love and caring for her group. Kara is the best guide, teacher, that I have ever seen. I would highly recommend going with Kara on her retreats anywhere, anytime. She is that good.

Kara has the genuine ability to know exactly what her students need to nurture themselves. The yoga and meditation practice supports both the mind and body, the food, talks and excursions furthers that support while deepening the experience. Her support doesn’t end when daily sessions or the retreat comes to a conclusion but continues in as much or as little as the individual is ready for.

Retreats are an opportunity to grow. Kara will take you deep in ways you won't expect...you always come out of a retreat a better, stronger, more grounded human.
