for the longest night and the stillness that comes before the light returns
Winter Solstice Celebration | 2 hours of yoga, pranayama, and mantra | $55
a pause to honor the year and welcome the returning light
By late December, the days have grown short and the season has turned inward, yet the calendar keeps asking for more. Many of us carry a full year with very little room to look back on it, and the body feels the pull toward rest long before we allow it.
Ayurveda reads the cold, dark months as a time to slow down, nourish ourselves, and turn toward what is essential. Join Kara Aubin for a special evening practice that gives that turning a shape, through asana, pranayama (breath practices), mantra, and community connection.
why pause at the solstice
The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year and marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. The word solstice means “stopped” or “stationary,” a still point when the sun appears to pause on the horizon before it begins its gradual ascent.
That pause is an invitation. It asks us to rest, reflect, and honor the transition before the light begins to return. Yoga gives the pause some structure, and gathering together makes it something we share. We come together to create an intentional, collective stillness, honoring what has come to fruition and welcoming a new cycle.
