Beginning Birding: Woodpeckers of Kleinstuck
w. Seth Chapman
Join experienced birder Seth Chapman for a guided hike through Kleinstuck Preserve, with a special focus on woodpeckers. As spring approaches, the forest begins to stir with birdsong and activity. While woodpeckers may not sing like songbirds, they communicate in fascinating ways—through drumming, calls, and movement across the trees.
This hike offers an opportunity to experience the forest coming alive, learn what makes woodpeckers unique, and become familiar with the species found in Southwest Michigan. Along the way, you’ll deepen your birding skills while enjoying time outdoors in community.
