Friday Night Yoga Groove (in-person)

Friday Night Yoga Groove offers us time to enjoy the beauty and delight that rises to the surface when we listen to amazing music and allow our bodies and minds to move with joy!
Gina will begin class with about 15 minutes of guided Yoga asana to warm up the body, and then the evening’s playlist will lead each student in their own practice. Students are free to explore asana or simply move/dance to the music in their own way. You are welcome to stay on your mat or move off of it, dance with yourself, or with a friend. The playlist will slow and quiet as class winds down so that students might stretch a little and rest into the delight of the moment.

Encourage the release of happy hormones in your body/mind
Ideal for students who enjoy Yoga and are interested in exploring moving to music at their own pace.

Gina took her first yoga class in NYC at The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center where her heart was smitten. Her first certification in Basics was through Kali Ray’s TriYoga system. She went on to complete her 200 and 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training certifications through Lotus in the Flame with her teacher, Melissa Spamer, who shares her deeply lived experience of Yoga & Ayurveda with a dedication that has been a gift to receive.
Gina is grateful for the richness offered her, the ground from which her unique understanding of yoga, bodywork and living with presence could root and rise. She began teaching yoga in the Kalamazoo community eighteen years ago upon request and hasn’t turned away from the invitation since. Her classes tend towards steadiness, essential movements for stability and ease with a request for curiosity and kindness towards the body-mind. She knows well the need to remember and offer the invitation to soften, listen, gentle and receive the sweetness of heart-centered awareness.
