Forest Bathing: Nature Therapy Immersion (in-person)

Whether you’re looking to reduce stress, increase creativity, or simply enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, our forest immersions offer a unique opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of your day and immerse yourself in the healing power of nature.
This nature immersion session includes guided meditation followed by a series of invitations to engage and interact with the natural world. Each session closes with a sharing circle including wild-harvested tea and healthy snacks. This session will be held outdoors, beginning at AWC and transitioning to the Kleinstuck Nature Preserve.
Class includes:
- outdoor guided nature walk
- sharing circles with the community
- guided meditation session
- closing ceremony including tea and snacks
Suggested Materials:
- sunblock
- bug repellant (natural formulations recommended)
- water bottle
- a lightweight folding chair or something to sit on that can be placed on the ground

Karen Joy Bouwman - ANFT
Karen Joy is the founder and ANFT certified guide of Nature Therapy of Michiana, a micro-farmer, fiber artist, and professional baker. Karen Joy is also a recent graduate of the Sva Sadhana Yoga and Āyurveda training program with Kara Aubin at AWC.
Her main passion is to provide a safe and supportive environment for participants to experience the healing power of nature and allow a deeper connection to emerge between participants and the natural world.
