_______ usually being one of our amazing asana classes, cooking classes, or workshops. So, in an effort to ensure everyone is in the know, we’ve put together a series of blog posts introducing you to our amazing teachers and all of their offerings here at the Ayurvedic Wellness Center.

meet the incredible gina greene
Gina took her first yoga class in NYC at The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in 1996. Instantly, her heart was smitten and she knew Yoga was something she wanted to know more about. Within months she had begun her first certification with Kali Ray’s TriYoga system and then went on to complete her 200 and 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training certifications through Lotus in the Flame. She has studied for many years with her teacher, Melissa Spamer, who shares her deeply lived experience of Yoga & Āyurveda.
In addition to teaching yoga at the AWC, Gina is also one of our Āyurvedic bodywork practitioners. She is trained in therapeutic massage, Shirodhara, basti treatments, lepena, marma, and more. If you haven’t had a chance to experience Gina’s magical hands, we suggest making an appointment.
Gina began teaching her Wild Honey yoga classes at the AWC in 2021.
what is wild honey yoga?
Wild Honey Yoga offers a steady practice that encourages strength and softness, stability and ease. It is a time held for friendly curiosity, observation, and relationship while consistently supporting awareness of the breath.
Held weekly on Tuesdays, at 9:30 am, Wild Honey Yoga offers a gentle approach devoted to the art of attention; a skill that supports open and honest presence as we move through our practice and lives.
who is it for?
Wild Honey Yoga is designed for...
Yoga practitioners of all levels. Whether this is your first Yoga class or your 1,000th, you will find the class effective and supportive.
Those looking for a gentle approach to practice.
Those looking for deeper exploration of their asana practice.
Those who are just coming back to the mat post-partum or after an injury.
All are welcome in this supportive, safe space.
"This was a wonderful class! Gina is a gentle instructor and takes notice if you're struggling. She speaks on the "sweetness" of yoga, encourages big, sighing breaths, and cultivates a sense of peace and belonging."

what does class look/ feel like?
Class begins with a brief check-in before we turn attention to the breath. We will invite the rhythm of the breath to lengthen and deepen while moving through small, steady movements that warm and strengthen our body as a whole. This time allows students to become more aware of the subtle and the depth of experience that rests in the body.
As the slower floor work completes, we will move into an intentional practice that invites spaciousness, awareness, and a continued conversation with the breath. The pacing ranges from unhurried and luxurious to playful and light.
Each class ends with time for rest, for gentling the tissue, and visiting the softness of the heart. Perhaps we might touch into the experience of wholeness and connection as we quiet the mind and drop in.
While each class has a focus, the postures and flows are dynamic and the teachings will shift in response to student concerns and needs. What seems like best medicine today? There is permission for rest, encouragement to explore the support of props and always, always the request to listen to and honor the needs of the body/mind. There are many, many ways to live into a pose - as many way as there are bodies on the planet.

✨ Cultivates a clear, calm, and supportive environment that enhances the experience of breath.
We hope that this post has inspired you to check out one of Gina’s incredible weekly classes. If 10:00 am on Tuesdays isn’t a time you can make it to the mat live, don’t worry. All of Gina’s classes are recorded and available in our on-demand library.
