the role
This is a hands-on production and execution role. Strategic direction is set by the Founder in partnership with our external creative agency. As the Specialist establishes command of our channels and audience, there is opportunity to contribute to campaign planning and channel strategy.
The position is remote-primary with regular required onsite time in Kalamazoo for content capture and weekly check-in.
This is a marketing seat within our organizational structure, accountable for:
Content Production
Copywriting and Channel Execution
Reporting and Automation

Content Production
Capture photo and video on site at classes, events, treatments, and in the apothecary
Concept, film, and edit short-form video for Reels and Stories
Repurpose recorded class and training content into usable short-form clips
Design graphics in Canva consistent with brand standards
Photograph retail products and build webstore listings
Maintain an organized content library and asset archive
Copywriting and Channel Execution
Write and schedule approximately four emails per month covering seasonal themes, classes and events, program launches, the seasonal cleanse, and retail
Create and schedule approximately seven social posts per week across Meta platforms and Google Business Profile
Format and publish blogs
Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages
Reporting and Automation
Deliver a monthly performance report covering channel metrics, what performed, and recommendations
Build and maintain email automation sequences in our marketing platform
Track and maintain the publishing calendar
What Success In This Role Looks Like
The publishing calendar is executed on schedule, at the stated cadence, without missed sends
Onsite content capture occurs one to two times per week, maintaining a working asset library ahead of launches rather than in response to them
The monthly performance report is delivered by the fifth of each month
Submitted work meets brand and quality standards with minimal revision required
Recurring production bottlenecks are identified and addressed proactively
Email automation sequences are built, tested, and documented

Ayurvedic Wellness Center is an intimate healing space. Clinical sessions, Ayurvedic bodywork session, education programs, and client care are happening throughout the day.
This role introduces our work to a wider community that can benefit from wrap-around Ayurvedic care.
We are seeking someone who brings a sense of beauty, creativity, and impeccability to this role - and who can’t want to share our work with the world!
Openness to learning about Ayurveda and the context of our work is expected. Prior background in Ayurveda is not required.
qualifications
Required:
Three or more years of hands-on experience in social content creation, content production, or marketing for a small business, founder, or lean marketing team
Portfolio of work personally created by the applicant
Demonstrated proficiency in Canva, including layout, typography, and brand consistency
Demonstrated experience filming and editing short-form video for social platforms
Hands-on experience building campaigns or automations in a marketing platform such as Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, or GoHighLevel
Strong writing skills across email, social, and product copy
Ability to work independently and manage priorities without daily supervision
Reliable transportation and availability for regular onsite work in Kalamazoo, including occasional evening and weekend events
Comfort working in an active clinical and classroom environment without disrupting sessions in progress
Preferred:
Experience in wellness, healthcare, fitness, or education
Experience with Google Business Profile, Meta Business Suite, or e-commerce product listings
Familiarity with GoHighLevel
Deep specialization across every social platform is not required.
position details
Schedule: 20 hours per week. Flexible scheduling with required onsite presence in Kalamazoo one to two days per week, plus occasional evening and weekend events.
Classification: W-2, non-exempt, paid hourly. All hours worked, including event coverage, are compensated.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Please include your hourly rate expectation with your application. Compensation advances via a documented competency framework
Equipment: AWC provides video capture equipment, audio equipment, and tripod. The Coordinator provides their own laptop and mobile phone.
Training: Formal training on our marketing automation platform will be provided.
Performance reviews aligned with operational KPIs.
Growth: This position has the potential to expand in scope and hours over time.
