Get ready to eat your weeds!
Originally introduced to North America for medicinal and culinary purposes, this herbs has now spread as an invasive throughout the US over the last 150 years.
Unfortunately the key to managing its growth requires that it be pulled by the roots before it goes to seed. Fortunately for us, it's a perfect green for Kapha season and is delicious when harvested this time of year.
Join Kara Aubin, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Herbalist, for this FREE hands-on class. We'll begin at the Ayurvedic Wellness Center and walk to the Kleinstuck Nature Preserve just one minute from our door to harvest Garlic Mustard (bring a bucket or basket for your crop). Learn what to look for when harvesting and what to avoid - and we'll help a local habitat in the process.
We'll then return to the Ayurvedic Wellness Center for a short demonstration of our favorite Garlic Mustard Pesto recipe.
Please bring a mask, pair of gloves, a bucket or basket to pick into, shears/scissors, and walking shoes.
COVID precautions: This event is held outside, and all participants will wear masks, with space for social distancing.
