your symptoms have a pattern. clinical Ayurveda finds it.

Thrive Clinical Care is how your wellness journey starts at AWC. Six months of consultations, personalized food, lifestyle, yoga, and herbal protocols, and the courses, classes, and apothecary that surround them. This approach works at the level of root-cause, and puts all of our tools at your disposal. Work with Kara in-person in Kalamazoo or virtually from anywhere.

Kara Aubin, CAP, E.RYT500, AYT. Founder of the Ayurvedic Wellness Center, with doctoral-level training in Ayurveda and a decade in clinical practice.

your health shouldn’t be a DIY job

It shouldn’t be your job to piece together your wellness plan. Between your PCP, your OB/GYN, health influencers, blogs, algorithm-suggested supplements, and AI-parsed lab reports, there is no shortage of input. What’s missing is a cohesive theory to connect the dots, and someone who sees you and your health concerns clearly.

Ayurveda is that theory. The Science of Life is an ancient and complete system of healing from India, one that looks at your unique constitutional type, what imbalances have accumulated, where they began, and how to return your system to its inherent state of balance.

The result? A modality that 'sees' you as a person, and not as your symptoms or disease. This is not a one-size fits all approach.

the four pillars of Thrive Clinical Care

Your care is built on these four pillars, each one personalized to your concerns, constitution, and the life you are actually living.

Food. What, how, and when to eat, to create correct digestion and metabolism, the root of all wellness.

Daily Rhythms. Routines, sleep, and seasonal adjustment that help regulate your biorhythms and support your energy.

Yoga. Postures, breath, and meditation to support your body and mind in doshically aligned ways.

Herbs. Classical formulas or custom preparations, reviewed and adjusted each consultation as your picture changes.

wrap-around care: our approach for your success

If we could do it by ourselves, if we didn’t need support or a shift in perspective, we probably would have already.

That’s why we offer wrap around care - a model of engagement that surrounds you with multiple layers of support. Not a standalone practitioner. Not a one-time appointment or protocol. You’ll have a whole team - Kara as your practitioner, Ayurvedic bodyworkers, Yoga teachers, a full-service Apothecary to make herbal access easy, and a support team who keeps it all running.

After a decade of clinical practice, we’ve wrapped all the ingredients of successful client outcomes into one clinical approach. You don’t have to figure it out, source your own herbs, decide which practices would best suit you, or hunt for recipes online. We do it for you.

how we begin

Thrive begins the day you enroll. You get immediate access to Foundations of Ayurveda, our four-week introductory course, so you arrive at your first appointment beginning to understand the theory your protocol is built on.

Your first appointment is a 90-minute Initial Consultation. The length of this appointment intentionally creates enough time for a full health history, constitutional (doshic) assessment, and Ayurvedic pulse assessment. We’ll discuss your concerns and goals in-depth, as well as food, digestion, elimination, sleep, stress, cognition, mobility, and more. You’ll leave this appointment with your first customized protocol from the pillars above.

Two weeks later, your Report of Findings. This appointment has three parts. First, we review your Ayurvedic findings: your constitution at birth, where it sits now, where the imbalance began, and which systems are under the most strain. Second, we walk through how we will work together to shift your inputs, reverse the imbalance, and strengthen any systemic weak spots. Third, we review how your first protocol has gone, what is working, and what needs troubleshooting.

From there, we meet every four weeks, with a touchpoint mid-month and messaging whenever you need support. Your protocol is reviewed and adjusted at each consultation as things change. This cadence keeps our collective focus, momentum, and energy on accomplishing your wellness goals.

your practitioner

Kara Aubin, CAP, E.RYT500, AYT

Kara is the founder of the Ayurvedic Wellness Center, with over a decade of clinical experience and a doctoral candidate with Kerala Ayurveda Academy. Her training began with Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, where she completed her Practitioner certification before serving as faculty at the Institute’s campus in Pune, India. Twenty years spent as a Yoga educator inform her body + mind approach, and her specialization as an Ayurvedic herbalist means her protocols are precise.

What clients notice is the passion and focus in her work. Kara is an accountability partner, not just a clinician. She asks the hard questions. She is as interested in how you’ll implement something as in whether it’s the right recommendation. When something isn’t working in your life, she troubleshoots it with you rather than handing you a different list. A decade of clinical practice means Kara has a deep well of tools to draw from, and she’ll co-create the perfect protocol with you.

is wrap-around care right for you? what AWC clients are saying

If you’ve been trying to take Ayurvedic actions/changes on your own and just aren’t getting the results you want, you might consider doing clinical work with an Ayurvedic practitioner such as Kara. She has the knowledge and experience to deeply hear what you need and knows what to focus on first to bring our systems back to balance. I highly recommend Kara for clinical Ayurvedic work.

I really love working with Kara, for a number of reasons. First and foremost, she is exceptionally knowledgeable and perceptive, which has lead me to experience real success with my health. What I think is really unique to Kara is her focus on finding a way to apply the medicine, no matter the obstacle. As someone with a chronic health condition, the burnout that can come with choosing natural medicine is a real obstacle to living well and comfortably: sustaining the lifestyle changes, the dietary changes, all of the herbs and treatments, etc. I feel I can be really honest with Kara and in return, receive her insistent support adapting the protocol to my needs without me feeling any guilt, nor accepting failure as an option. Which is to say: sometimes I have to do things I don’t like in order to be well, and Kara gently and firmly holds me to that. Besides the tangible health-benefits of working with Kara, there is also the intangible benefit of being taught how to read my own cues. After working with Kara, I feel empowered to fine-tune my internal environment based on the cues I receive from my own body, via things like food, drink, breath, and movement. The team she leads is beyond warm and professional, her apothecary is well-curated, the spaces are beautiful, and her care is extraordinary. Thank you, Kara, and AWC team for your good care!

- Emiline C.

When I came to Kara, I had high cholesterol and elevated A1C levels - I was told I was pre-diabetic. I felt overwhelmed and unsure of what to do next. Kara guided me through a Ayurvedic cleanse, supported me with food and lifestyle recommendations, and introduced me to specific herbs tailored to my needs. Within just four months, my cholesterol dropped by 50 points and my A1C returned to healthy levels. I was amazed not only by the physical transformation but by the sense of empowerment and hope I gained. Kara’s deep knowledge, compassion, and holistic approach have truly changed my life. I’m so grateful for her support and highly recommend her to anyone seeking healing through Ayurveda.

- Amber C.

I started working with Kara Aubin and the Ayurvedic Wellness Center years ago due to the beginning of arthritis in my hands. my daily pain experience was a range of 5-8. After many cleanse cycles and various different herbal remedy combinations, I am happy to report that my hands have little to no pain. I knew that I wanted to try an approach to arthritis treatment different than what allopathic medicine had to offer. I am beyond thrilled and thankful for the wisdom that I have gained from working with Kara and the team at AWC.

- Laura G.

Love Kara, and I love the process of feeling good in my body.  I thought I felt good before I started with Kara and that I didn’t need too much help, until I really started feeling good under Kara’s care.   Understanding how the body works has been such a blessing, all the uncomfortable bloating, gas, and extra inflammation is all on its way out of my body. I have more focus, organization in my day, and also my body feels lean and strong.  I am telling all my friends they need this work too!
