Beginning Birding: Wood-Warblers of Kleinstuck
w. Seth Chapman

Join Seth Chapman, Apothecary Manger and experienced birder, on a birdwatching hike through Kleinstuck Preserve. Mid-May is peak migration season in southwest Michigan, and many of the species that can be seen in Kleinstuck at this time belong to a family of birds called Wood Warblers.

Wood Warblers are small, strikingly colorful birds that can be surprisingly difficult to pinpoint without the help of an experienced guide. Before taking to the trails to discover these species, there will be a short discussion on Wood Warblers, as well as complimentary chai.

During our hike we will attune to our surroundings, looking and listening to the many species of birds which grace our presence. What can we learn by observing our feathered friends? In contemplation, we will deepen our understanding of ourselves, and the environment around us.

Come to hike in community, sharpen your identification skills, build your life list, and expand your bird knowledge! All skill levels are welcome.

Registration covers one adult, and individual registrations are not shareable between two or more individuals. Birders 10 and under are welcome to attend free of charge. This hike will take place rain or shine.

Please bring a pair of binoculars, and a travel mug for complementary chai.

Hike length: 1.5 mi, easy difficulty
