Beginning Birding: Spring Migration Season
w. Seth Chapman
Join Seth Chapman, Apothecary Coordinator and experienced birder, on a birdwatching hike through Kleinstuck Preserve.
We kick off the first hike of the 2024 season with spring migration underway. This is a very exciting time to get out in the woods and observe the birds as they reach their breeding grounds and begin the ritual of mating, nesting, and raising young.
Before we venture through the woods, there will be a short discussion on the American Robin, as well as complimentary chai.
Following our discussion, we take to the trails of Kleinstuck. We will attune to our surroundings, looking and listening to the many species of birds which grace our presence. What can we learn by observing our feathered fiends? In contemplation, we will deepen our understanding of ourselves, and the environment around us.
Come to hike in community, sharpen your identification skills, build your life list, and expand your bird knowledge! All skill levels are welcome.
Registration covers one adult, and individual registrations are not shareable between two or more individuals. Birders 10 and under are welcome to attend free of charge.
Please bring a pair of binoculars, and a travel mug for complementary chai.
Hike length: 1.5 mi, easy difficulty
